Darline Graham is considering a bid for a full Senate term, according to reports from The Associated Press, signaling a new chapter in her political career. Memorial plans for her brother, Lindsey Graham, have been set for later this month.

Sources close to the matter revealed that Darline Graham has begun talks about potentially launching a campaign. Recently appointed to complete her brother’s term by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Darline Graham Nordone was officially sworn in on Tuesday.

The timeline for a special primary is set with the filing period lasting from July 21 to July 28, followed by the primary on August 11. Other identified contenders for the seat include Reps. Russell Fry, Nancy Mace, and Ralph Norman, in addition to Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette.

Darline Graham Nordone remarked during a recent press conference, “Lindsey has always been there for me, and now I will be there for him.”

Alongside these political developments are arrangements to honor the late senator’s contributions. The senator’s communications director has announced commemorative events on July 28 in Washington, D.C., and on July 29 in Columbia and Pickens County, South Carolina.

Following Lindsey Graham’s tragic passing at age 71, the cause of death was identified as an aortic dissection resulting from arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. His sister plans to uphold his legacy by completing the term through January.
