Crews are actively addressing a major fire in Allentown, Pennsylvania. According to reports, the fire began at an old commercial building around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday evening. It has since spread to a nearby residential home.
Lehigh County Dispatch indicated that the incident is a six-alarm fire. As a result, PPL Electric Utilities has cut power in the vicinity, leaving approximately 3,600 customers without electricity.
Authorities in Allentown advise people to shelter in place while firefighters work to control the situation. Residents on the 300 block of Front Street are advised to evacuate via their backyards.
